The short version
Today, Shivra is a waitlist. The only personal information we collect on this site is the email address you choose to give us when you join the waitlist or apply as a founding writer. We use it for one thing: to let you know when Shivra opens. We don’t sell it, and we don’t ask for anything we don’t need.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you submit one of the waitlist forms.
- Whether you applied as a writer (the Founding 50 form) versus the general waitlist, so we can tell readers and writers apart when we reach out.
We do not collect your name, date of birth, gender, phone number, address, or any payment details on this page. There are no payments before launch.
Why we collect it
To email you when Shivra launches, and occasionally before that with a meaningful update — nothing more. If you applied as a founding writer, we may also contact you about the Founding 50 program while spots remain.
Cookies and analytics
This waitlist page does not set advertising cookies and does not load third-party tracking or ad pixels. If we add privacy-respecting analytics later, we’ll update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first rather than loading it silently.
Who can see it
Your email is stored with the email/waitlist service we use to manage the list ([EMAIL_PROVIDER]) and is accessible only to the small Shivra team. We don’t share or sell your information to third parties for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep your email until Shivra launches and you’ve had the chance to create an account, or until you ask us to remove it — whichever comes first. You can ask us to delete it at any time (see below).
How it’s protected
We take reasonable, industry-standard steps to keep your email safe, including serving this site over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No online service can promise perfect security, so we won’t — but we collect as little as possible precisely to keep the risk low.
Your choices
- Ask us what we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete your email.
- Unsubscribe from any email we send.
To do any of these, email hello@shivra.in.
Changes to this policy
As Shivra grows from a waitlist into a full product, this policy will be expanded and replaced. We’ll post the updated version here with a new effective date before it takes effect.
