Clear about money from day one
Writers should be able to see how they get paid — in plain language, not a maze of coins and conversions. We’re designing payout clarity into the product before a single rupee changes hands.

Why we’re building it
We started Shivra because the apps we read on kept getting the basics wrong. Here’s what we’re building differently — stated as intentions, because the product isn’t live yet.
Writers should be able to see how they get paid — in plain language, not a maze of coins and conversions. We’re designing payout clarity into the product before a single rupee changes hands.
Most platforms bolt Indian languages on as a translation afterthought. Shivra is being built Hindi-first, so Indian stories and the tropes readers actually grew up with lead — for audiences here and abroad.
No ad-stacking, no forced auto-advance, no dark patterns nudging you to spend. We want the reading itself to feel calm — the way a good book does — and we’re holding the design to that.
On the roadmap
We’re pre-launch — this is what we’re building, and what joining early gets you a front-row seat to.
From joint-family sagas and arranged-marriage drama to enemies-to-lovers and mythological fantasy — a catalogue you can browse without an account once we open.
A writer’s home that shows support, balance, and your next payout date — itemised, so you always know what you’ve earned and when it arrives.
Ways to follow writers, react chapter by chapter, and find your next read through people whose taste you trust — not an algorithm guessing in the dark.
Writing online comes with a real risk: someone reposts your novel under their name and earns from your work. We’re building copyright protection to stop that.
As novels are uploaded, the system compares them against existing work and flags likely copies. When it finds one, it notifies you — the verified author — and you decide what happens next, from a claim inside Shivra to taking it further. And if you ever need help, you reach a real person, not a form.
Shivra has a short, swipeable discovery feed — the reels format you know, built for stories instead of video. Authors post clips, excerpts, and story-pulse updates; readers swipe and find their next read.
The difference: most feeds just keep showing whoever’s already big. Ours is built to deliberately surface new and small writers too, so a genuinely good unknown gets a real shot at being discovered.
This part is for people who write, not just read. We’re opening a Founding 50 program for the first fifty writers to commit to Shivra — and what they get isn’t a launch-week freebie. It lasts.
Founding 50 — limited writer spots
A distinct mark on your public profile that instantly sets it apart from every writer who joins later. It’s permanent — not a temporary launch perk — and it never expires or transfers.
Every new feature reaches founding writers before the general public — not once, but for as long as you stay on the platform. It’s an ongoing head start, not a one-time bonus.
In these early days you talk to the person actually building Shivra — not a support queue. Give feedback, ask for things, and genuinely steer where the product goes next.
Founding 50 applications open with the waitlist below — join and we’ll be in touch about a spot.
